The Beginning
In the beginning, 1985, MB Industries was formed in Wapakoneta, Ohio by Michael E. Borges. With limited space and meager available funding, MB Industries was first located in the "Barn", located on the back corner of our own property. With many new customers and distributors coming on board, among them Ford Motor Co, it was an exciting time in the welding consumables market.
The Evolution
After a couple years of hard work, both manufacturing and selling, it was time to move to a new facility. A friend with a local machine shop was not going to continue his business and rented his facility to us. About a year later, he not only sold his farm but also the machine shop building that we were renting, forcing us to move into Wapakoneta. About the time we needed to move again another friend had just purchased an old cheese manufacturing plant in the center of Wapakoneta. Immediately after acquisition of the building, we became the first tenant. This was a great relationship for both parties and it lasted 13 years.
In 2005 M.B. Industries, Inc. moved into our current location in a new facility in the West Central Ohio Industrial Park in Wapakoneta. Our new modern facility serves us and our customer's well, with the option of adding on to our existing building at a time of needed expansion.
